Who, Me?…Yes, You.
I sang, “Who Stoled The Cookie From The Cookie Jar?”
so many times with young children, I can’t even begin to say.
When I think about who I am, I think of children.
They’ve always been my Guiding Light.
Children reflect their environment.
Each time I look to see who “Me” is, I watch the children. It’s so simple; look closely, you will see yourselves through them; their behavior shows yours.
Most adults are so busy playing games, there is ”Nothing Real” to see, so why bother being around them unless you have to!
So, I just spend time with the ones, who care to be “Real”., like my close family members and friends.
The rest, I prey for.
They need to go back to their Mamas and start over again. I’m serious, those “UNREAL” people, need a second chance…
“Father forgive them, for they know wot What they do”. that scripture from the bible really helps me with maintaining a forgiving attitude.
Enough of all that…
I taught children for thirty five years and during that time, I started my own school (three of them, actually) to teach my three children at home. That was a time when “”Home Schooling”" wasn’t an option unless you had a school that was incorporated with the state. I did it!
I would do anything to get my children out of the clutches of the “UNREAL” .
I was a pioneer; there were only sixty four private schools in the Northwest then. Mine was in Oregon ( K through 12 ). I began in my home, because that’s what we had.
My oldest son, who was eleven at the time, had witnessed another boy getting his head bashed into a brick wall of the school he attended. It was right out in front by the main entrance; my son watched the boy die.
Well, that was the final straw. You see, there were other straws:
> When I was on the school board, I discovered that the poor ratio between students and teachers was based on MONEY.
> My oldest son’s teacher informed me that nine year old girls were being PIMPED OUT by their PARENTS.
> The principal laughed at me, when I told him I wanted to home school part time.
> We didn’t live in a bad neighborhood and “It” still happened.
So, not long after starting the school, I went back east and met some great people, who eventually moved to Oregon to work on the school with me.
I called it Windsong School, bought a building, received a grant…
I have to stop here, I could go on and on. I’ll write a book one day.
Gardening is another love of mine. You can visit my blog; it’s called “Karin’s Gardening Tips” ( http://karinsgardeningtips.wordpress.com/ ).
But Health is number one ,
because without it, there is nothing.
Good health means everything to us.
With it…
money, success, children, plants, animals adults:0)
and basically, all of life is enjoyed to the fullest!
That’s where I am right now. I am concentrating on GOOD HEALTH.
Okay, I spent most of my life with children.
Why? They are “REAL”. Children are honest.
My oldest son, who saw the boy die, is Derrick Van Dyke. When I closed my last school, he became my mentor online…Funny, huh. He’s one of those Internet Marketing Gurus.
More later, Folks…
